Community Engagement

The Community Engagement Team organises regular family hikes encouraging our parents and students to stay active while having a great time outdoors with their family and the community. We were lucky to have been able to organise a fun but challenging hike during term 1 after the COVID-19 restrictions were eased, making the most of the scenic and serene King Lake. Fifteen families joined the hike with their children, walking the 5km track with dedication while engaging in delightful conversations. The hike ended with a short and sweet picnic as everyone munched on their snacks and reflected on the beauty of the area as well as the rewarding nature of the walk.

The Community Engagement Team also organises regular tea & coffee gatherings to encourage connections and ignite powerful ideas for creating strong school communities. At the first meeting, everyone introduced themselves, we talked about possible future activities and ended with delightful conversations. We will continue to organise similar events to create a welcoming school community

If you would like to participate in future activities please follow up Community Engagement related messages and emails throughout the year.

Religion and Values

Welcome to a new academic year 2021. Hope everyone had a wonderful and rejuvenating break and ready for the new journey at Sirius College.

We have been very busy with our Pastoral care activities this term. We have Quran lessons (3.30-4.30) every Tuesday and Pastoral care programs on every Wednesday (3.30-5.00) for girls.

Our Grade 4,5,6 girls are having a PC reading competition this year and they will have some rewards once they completed their readings. The books are available in the library to borrow and reading competition details are displayed in the library and in each year level hub.

This term Grade 5 girls are learning moral values in Pastoral care programs and improving their knowledge. While they are enjoying their light snack, they are also having lots of fun. In term 2, we are planning to have iftar dinners at school, do some fundraising activities to raise money for the needy people.

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful term 1 break and I would like to say “Ramadan Kareem” to all our parents, teachers and students.

Warm Regards,

Ms. Neslihan Kirazli
Girls Pastoral Care Co-Ordinator
